PREPARATION SUGGESTION for FULL CROWN RESTORATIONS
Even reduction of the anatomical form should occur, reduce more occlusal on posteriors
Provide enough room to allow adequate strength for the restorative material.
Avoid sharp internal edges and angles, create rounded internal line angles.
Avoid undercuts
Taper Preps between 4 and 8 degrees
Reduce at least 2mm on occlusal surfaces for all ceramic posterior restorations
For all ceramic anterior restorations, 1 to 1,5mm labial reduction, and 1,5mm lingual contact clearance.
Reduce as much as possible where severely discoloured preparations need to be masked. It is better to create an opacious layer as deep into the restoration as possible.
